Tonight we traveled to the Lower Merion Township Building to honor firefighter John Hofstetter for his outstanding heroic efforts that led to the rescue of 2 township residents last August. John who was assisted by Narberth Ambulance Paramedic Al Davey, along with 2 Lower Merion Township Police Officers, rescued two people from a vehicle that was in over 8 feet of floodwater at Penn and Wynnewood Roads. Had these brave public servants not risked their own lives, the two people trapped in the car would have perished. Congratulations to John and Al for their heroic actions!
Also on the evening was a heroism award to Ardmore Chief Tom Hayden for the rescue of a trapped fire victim back in January. Tom is also a volunteer firefighter at Gladwyne as well! Congratulations Tom!
