Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched just before 1100 hours today to assist Narberth Fire Company at a house fire on Righters Mill Road. Upon arrival of Engine 26 (Narberth Fire Company) , the crew encountered a large mansion style house with fire showing from a second floor window. Once inside the crew found a room and contents fire that was being held in the room due to the quick thinking of the babysitter who shut the door when she found the fire. Upon arrival of Engine 24, we assisted Narberth's crews with preserving the occupants belongings under the fire room by removing pictures and moving furniture so that it would not get ruined by the water to extinguish the fire. Excellent JOB by Narberth's first in crew who made a quick knock of the fire. Along with Narberth and Gladwyne Fire Companies, Ardmore responded as the FAST Team and Belmont Hills was the extra engine which is dispatched on all working fires in Lower Merion and Narberth.
