Gladwyne Firefighters are keeping busy with all of the heavy rains over the last few weeks! Flooding continues to plague the area each time that it rains. Another issue is that we have 2 Fords (Roadways that cross through Mill Creek) in our district and each time it rains, they flood to! Unfortunately, the motoring public feels the need to drive through the flooded Creek and then require our services to rescue them! This morning just before 2 am Gladwyne Firefighters were alerted to a water rescue at Righters Mill Road at the Ford for a subject trapped on his car in the flooded water. Gladwyne Members along with LMPD and FM34-2 (McCoy) arrived and quickly and removed the subject from harms way!
For those residents who read our website: PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH THE FLOODED FORDS! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS and you will TOTAL your car! If you do not want your car, you can donate it to the fire company and we can give it to one of our volunteers who could not afford to participate in the government Cash for Clunkers program!
