Gladwyne Firefighters Stay Busy!

Your Gladwyne Firefighters have responded to 10 calls in the past 48 hours, including 2 building fires.

There were several incidents on the expressway, a few fire alarms, an odor of smoke in the area and 2 building fires.

On Thursday morning during rush hour, Engine 24 was dispatched to assist the Radnor Fire Company at a building fire at the Main Line Jaguar / Land Rover Dealership on Lancaster Ave. Upon arrival, Command sent Engine 24’s crew to the basement to assist crews fighting the fire in the building. The crew assisted with gaining access to a large parts machine that was on fire and assisted with extinguishing the fire. Engine 24 remained on scene for just under 2 hours.

On Friday morning just before lunch time, Engine 24 was dispatched to assist Narberth Fire Companypany along with Union Fire AssociationtiMerion Fire Company of ArdmoremoPenn Wynne Fire Company - Station 21n Belmont Hills Fire CompanypaNarberth Ambulanceance Lower Merion Police Departmentment at a building fire at the Thomas Wynne Apartments on North Wynnewood Road.

Upon arrival, Engine 24’s crew was assigned by Command to assist Narberth’s firefighters with stretching a hose line to the 2nd floor to extinguish a small kitchen fire in one of the apartments. Once the fire was out, the crew assisted with ventilating the building as there was heavy smoke throughout a few of the floors from the fire. Engine 24 was on scene for approximately 90 minutes.
