Gladwyne Firefighters were busy on Saturday afternoon and night! We responded to 4 different fire calls between 4:15pm and 01:15am. The first calls was to assist Ardmore Fire Company at a house fire on Simpson Road. Engine 24 and Air 24 responded and assisted for just about 90 minutes. Upon getting back into Gladwyne and cleaning up the equipment, we were again dispatched this time for a brush fire in the Gladwyne Playground. Upon arrival firefighters found that there were several air conditioning units burning inside the locked gate to the field house under the big antenna in the middle of the playground. The fire was up against the building, therefore Ardmore Fire Company was dispatched to assist us. This fire was controlled and firefighters remained on scene for about an hour. At 8:30 pm a fire alarm was activated on Rock Creek Road and was found to be faulty. Finally at 01:30 hrs GFC firefighters were dispatched to an accident stand by vehicle into a house on River Road. While responding, it was determined that the accident was on Hagysford Road and not River Road. Engine 24 proceeded into the scene and assisted Belmont Hills Fire Company on the scene were several patients were transported from the scene to area hospitals.
Great work by all of the Lower Merion Township Firefighters who were busy on Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.
