By Radio Room
September 20, 2012
Tonight, Gladwyne Firefighters traveled to Center City Philadelphia, where Assistant Chief's Michael Schwarz, John Remillard and James "Chip" McLean were awarded the National Liberty Museum Valor Award for their heroic rescues last summer during the heavy flooding in Whitemarsh Township. We shared the night with many other Police Officers, Firefighters and Paramedics who were all awarded for outstanding life saving events.
Also on hand for the award ceremony were Firefighters Rob Dronitsky, Jim Daywalt and Joey Daywalt all who were rescued by our Firefighters in the flooding. The fourth firefighter CJ Dimidio could not be at the award ceremony because he is serving in the Military.
We would like to THANK Chief Chris Schwartz from the Barren Hill Fire Company and Joseph Costello from the Washington Fire Company of Conshohocken , who both nominated our guys for this prestigious award.
For those who have never been to the National Liberty Museum, please visit as it is a beautiful facility that honors our local Public Servants.
