Gladwyne Assists Union Fire Association of Bala Cynwyd at Mansion Fire

Just after lunch today Fire Tones started sounding in Lower Merion. Station 28 (Union) and Station 26 (Narberth) were dispatched to a house fire on Winding Way in the Merion Station section of the Township. Just after the dispatch LMPD arrived and reported a working house fire. Due to the high winds today the fire started to spread throughout the house quickly. Stations 22 (Belmont Hills), Station 24 (Gladwyne), and Station 25 (Ardmore) were dispatched on the working fire box for the extra engine, Air 24 and FAST Team (Engine 25). As the fire continued to grow additional resources were dispatched bringing, Station 21 (Penn Wynne) and Engine and Ladder 24 to assist. Throughout the afternoon various mutual aid companies stood by and handled emergencies in all of our stations while we were busy in the East end of the Township. A special THANK YOU goes out to George Clay Fire Company who stood by in our fire house while we were at the fire.
