| In February of 2026, the Active Members Club of the Gladwyne Fire Company (Active Firefighters) changed the name of the “apparel committee” to the Recruitment and Retention Committee
This committee was tasked with researching and securing appreciation gifts for the active firefighters each month to thank them for their commitment to serving the company and community.
The February appreciation gift was a custom GFC blanket and the March gift was a set of FLAME natural decon shampoo and body soap with a scrubber. This soap is specifically made to remove carcinogens and PFAs from our firefighters skin / hair after fires or extended wear of fire gear and exposure. We hope to provide our firefighters with every chance to reduce exposure to carcinogens. We will continue to provide this product to our members when they run out to keep them as safe as we can.
The committee is awaiting the arrival of the April appreciation gift and the May gift is getting ordered in the next few days!
