GFC members were alerted to a car fire in the westbound Expressway this morning at 0422 hours

Engine 24 responded with a crew of 4 and upon arrival found a car well involved in fire. The crew deployed a hand line to extinguish the fire.

Westbound on the Expressway was closed while the incident was being dealt with.

Rescue 22 from the Belmont Hills Fire Company assisted at the scene

Engine 24 then returned to the station and firefighters cleaned the equipment and packed the hose back on the truck.

After the truck was restored, all of the Volunteers headed home to get ready to go to work. (This was the 2nd call for our Firefighters between midnight and 5am this morning)
