Gladwyne Firefighters received 100% Certification from the Office of State Fire Commissioner. What does this mean?

It means that ALL of our members are certified to the Firefighter 1 level through the State Fire Academy. As you may recall in the past, Firefighter 1 certification is almost 200 hours of formal instruction that takes the better part of one year to accomplish. Over the years, this certification has become more formalized and making it much longer than it was many years ago.

Even some of our veteran Firefighters went back to school to obtain their certification so that we could achieve this honor!

We are extremely PROUD of our Firefighters and we hope that you are as well.
