To Our Gladwyne Neighbors:

I hope this message finds you and your family well during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am happy to report that all of your firefighters remain healthy and continue to respond to calls with the necessary protective equipment.

Since 1944, the primary goal of the Gladwyne Fire Company has been to protect your family and your property. Luckily for us, we have also shared in celebrating many special events with you, too. From the annual Halloween haunted house, marching through town on Memorial Day, even helping your family choose the best Christmas Tree – we have been blessed by your support.

Across the country, Fire Departments have played host to ‘drive-by’ special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. After several requests and much deliberation, the Gladwyne Fire Company has decided not to participate.

The only way out of communal problems is communal solutions. It is imperative that we do everything we can to minimize the risk to our members while upholding our oath to protect and serve our community. If we were to be exposed, it could potentially reduce our ability to serve you when you need it the most.

Make no mistake about it, we look forward to the days of lemon sticks at Azalea Day and providing tours of our firehouse! Until then, please remain vigilant and safe.

In Health,

Blaine W. Leis, Fire Chief
