Gladwyne Firefighters utilized the recent Seattle like weather to perform Swift Water Rescue training the river. Because of the large amounts of heavy rain, the river was moving rapidly and was overtaking the riverbanks that are normal work platforms for our rescuers. We practiced self rescue techniques, shoreline throw bag rescues and utilizing the RDC inflatable raft. Training of this type is invaluable and due to the extreme conditions of the river, we only have a small window of opportunity to perform the training.

Excellent night of training!
