Shortly after 8pm tonight Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched as the 2nd due company to assist Narberth Fire Company at a house fire on Fairview Road in Penn Valley. Upon arrival of Engine 24, the crew was assigned to assist Engine 26's crew with fire extinguishment in the basement of the house. The LMFD working fire dispatch was transmitted bringing a piece of apparatus with manpower from each of the Lower Merion companies. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the basement fire and spent some time checking to make sure the fire did not spread to the 1st floor. Firefighters were on scene for a little over 2 hours.

Great job to all the firefighters on scene that worked hard to save the house.
