Rest In Peace Lucky

It is with the most profound sense of regret that the Gladwyne Fire Company announce the death of “Lucky” the firehouse dog. Lucky was laid to rest peacefully in Gladwyne after battling ongoing health issues for the past few months. His best friends from the fire company were by his side until the final moments.

Lucky served as Mascot of the Fire Company for fourteen years. He was a part of our firefighting family and especially known throughout the community. Lucky enjoyed the company of others and loved having residents come and visit with him. Much like our firefighters, Lucky devoted time to the town, leading the way through Gladwyne during the annual Memorial Day Parade. A beacon of positive energy, he was an invaluable member of this organization, serving as a colleague and friend.

We will truly miss Lucky, but are pleased that he is now at peace and no longer in pain. Lucky will be cremated and his urn will be placed in the Crew Lounge inside the firehouse for all to memorialize.

Many community members are reaching out to the Fire Company asking to help obtain a new mascot for our fire company, but at this time we are respectfully declining such offers as we need some time to remember our friend Lucky and grieve his loss.

We invite you to leave your favorite Lucky memories in our "Guestbook" section of the website.

THANK YOU to all of our loving community who will help us through this difficult time.
