| Just before Midnight, Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched to assist Station 26 (Narberth) with a house fire in Penn Valley. Upon arrival of LMPD (Lower Merion Police Department) they found heavy smoke coming from the building with fire showing from the basement. The homeowner was awaiting the fire company arrival outside the building. Upon arrival of Engine 26 went in service in the basement and Engine 24's crew handled the first and second floors, keeping the fire from extending past the second floor baseboards. Ladder 24 arrived and was positioned in case we needed to go to the roof, which was not necessary because the interior crews did an excellent job of extinguishing the fire before it made it to the roof.
Gladwyne Firefighters assisted with Fire extinguishment, ventilation, salvage and overhaul, scene lighting and filled 20 SCBA cylinders.
Great Job by all those working at the scene! |
