Gladwyne Firefighters were dispatched to assist Station 28 (Union), Station 22 (Belmont Hills), Engine 26 (Narberth) and Ladder 21 (Penn Wynne) at a house fire. The call was originally dispatched as a car fire, but was quickly upgraded to a house fire and upon confirmation of the fire, the Lower Merion Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted adding Ladder 24, Engine 25 and Engine 23.

Upon arrival of Ladder 24 staffed with 6 firefighters, command immediately changed their assignment from Rapid Intervention to search and rescue because of reports that there was an unaccounted occupant possibly still in the house.

Half of the Ladder crew started to search the first floor and basement while the other half assisted with firefighting operations.

Firefighter Pearce Flanagan located the missing occupant hiding in the basement of the fire building. Firefighters Justin Fusaro and Colin Flanagan made their way to Pearce and the occupant and all three assisted the scared occupant out of the fire building and turned him over to the EMS crew.

Assistant Chief Remillard, Assistant Chief McLean and FF Watrous were assisting with fire suppression and were then joined by FF Colin Flanagan, FF Pearce Flanagan and FF Justin Fusaro after they assisted the occupant from the building.

Congratulations to the Following Ladder 24 crew! Great Job!
